SUCH IS LIFE (The Recession Song)
Well, I’m sitting here wasted on one glass of wine.
Yeah, this isn’t the way I expected to spend my time,
but with the way things are going I need something to ease my mind.
I got a dollar in my pocket and a week till I get paid.
I never see my boyfriend, it’s a month since I got laid.
Oh, I couldn’t see this coming so I don’t know how it got this way.
But such is life, or so they say.
And everything will come to pass one day.
And so it goes, or so I’m told.
And one day we may learn what’s now unknown.
I drive a beat up car that’s always breaking down.
I got credit cards that all have been maxed out.
I had friends here once, but they all moved out of town.
I had confidence, but that was stripped away.
I had insurance until I couldn’t pay.
And my residence may be foreclosed, but hey…
